Agrale was founded in 1962 by Francisco Stédile in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. Initially named Agrisa, the company began by producing walking tractors and small engines. Over the decades, it evolved into a major manufacturer of tractors, trucks, buses, and military vehicles, gaining international recognition in the motorcycle world through its partnership with Cagiva in the 1980s.

Agrale is still in operation and remains an independent Brazilian company. However, motorcycle production ended in 1997/1998. Today, Agrale focuses on heavy machinery, tractors, and trucks. Their most prominent current vehicle is the Agrale Marruá, a heavy-duty 4x4 used by the military. They no longer produce 2-stroke off-road bikes, having shifted entirely to the commercial vehicle sector.
