Aermacchi / Harley Davidson

During the 1970s, Harley-Davidson utilized Aermacchi’s Italian engineering to enter the dirt bike scene. They produced the SX series (Enduro) and the MX-250 (Motocross). The 1978 MX-250 is legendary for its unique design and power but struggled to compete commercially against Japanese brands. This era ended when the Varese factory was sold to the Castiglioni brothers (Cagiva) in 1978.
