Domino

Technological milestones

Domino quickly became a technological pioneer in the field of human-machine interfaces:

  • The throttle grip: Domino revolutionized the market with short-stroke throttle grips for racing and specialized grips for trial sports (which had to be extremely sensitive).
  • Material mix: Domino was one of the first manufacturers to combine thermoplastics with die-cast aluminum for lever fittings, which saved weight and improved ergonomics.
  • Electrics: In the 1970s, Domino expanded its portfolio to include electrical switch units (lights, turn signals, horn), becoming a system supplier for the entire cockpit.

The strategic merger (1991)

The year 1991 marked a decisive turning point. In that year, Domino took over the Tommaselli company.

  • The result: the founding of the Domino-Tommaselli Group.
  • Synergy: The merger made it possible to offer motorcycle manufacturers the "full handlebar concept": Tommaselli handlebars, Domino instruments, grips, and switches. This made the group the global market leader for original equipment manufacturing (OEM).
