TGM ceases production.

A huge success for the small Italian brand TGM and Michele Rinaldi. A fantastic season with three race wins, including both races at his home GP in Montevarchi, made him Michele Nazionale. Michele Rinaldi wins the 125cc Italian Junior Championship on a TGM

Iller Aldini joined TGM as a mechanic and learned the ropes under the wing of Silvano Bigna.

The 17-year-old talent Michele Rinaldi receives a wildcard for the home GP in Livorno. With 10th place in the second race, he scores his first World Championship point.

Silvano Bigna is hired by TGM as chief engineer and head of the racing department to drive forward technical professionalization. He will be the driving force behind the switch from the simple Sachs engines to the more powerful Hiro engines.

Claudio Terzi and Claudio Marchesini founded TGM. TGM stands for Terzi, Giovanna (Giuseppina Giovanna, Claudio Marchesini's wife) and Marchesini. Terzi was responsible for the commercial side and organization, while Marchesini was the frame builder. He designed the chassis, which were considered extremely stable at the time. Originally, they only built a 50cc motocross motorcycle with a Sachs engine prepared by them, built for Terzi himself. But the bike was so good that it led to a small series production.
