Andre Malherbe dies at the age of 66

Andre Malherbe crashes heavily during the Paris-Dakar Rally and is left paraplegic.

André Malherbe signed a contract with Yamaha France to participate in the Dakar Rally.

Malherbe breaks his leg and has to sit out the 4 GP. He had four second places to his name up to that point.

Malherbe confirms his title from the previous year and secures Zündapp's second European Championship.
