Gianni Perini and Vito Consolati found the Kram-IT brand. Italian investors acquire the rights, machines, and expertise from Fritz Kramer and his Kramer sports motorcycles. The name KRAM-IT simply stands for KRAM-er IT-alia. The aim is to maintain the excellent reputation of Kramer's chassis, in particular the cantilever rear suspension, while relocating production to Italy.
The merger with Bultaco was unable to halt the decline. Ossa becomes insolvent. The factory in Barcelona was taken over by the remaining workers, who continued to run the company as a cooperative under the name Maquinaria y Elementos de Transporte, S.A.L. (METSAL). Trial models (such as the TR 80 "Yellow Orange") continued to be produced in small quantities in order to keep the brand alive.
Kreidler has to close its factory gates and is liquidated. The bankruptcy administrator, Dr. Volker Grub, has the remaining approx. 2,100 vehicles (mopeds and 80s) assembled. Production in Kornwestheim then finally came to an end in April. The trademark rights remain in the bankruptcy estate until further notice.
Despite Jan Witteven's move to rival Cagiva, Gilera now wants to go on the offensive in the World Championship and signs Michele Rinaldi and Corrado Maddi for the 1982 season.
Economic difficulties led to the end of Aspes in Gallarate in 1982. The remains of the company were taken over by Unimoto (which emerged from the Milani brand). Models continued to be produced under this umbrella for a short time before the Aspes name disappeared from the market in the mid-1980s.
